I stumbled upon this article in today’s Wall Street Journal. Two things popped into my head. The first was, “Finally. Yoga in the military.” The second was a bumper sticker I used to see on the backs of Volvo wagons as a kid growing up in Oregon: “It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the Air Force has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber.”
Given the recent incident at Fort Hood, we ought to closely examine how the military responds to soldiers in need of mental help. Yoga (as well as other mind/body practices, like aromatherapy, meditation, etc.) is a positive change in military philosophy. Thoughts?
