meatless monday: an ode to pinterest, and to food porn

You may have already heard about Pinterest, the latest and greatest Internet offering that tickles to your inner design nerd and inner lover of all things pretty. It allows you to peruse the Internet, find the stuff you love, then share it with the world in a simple, pretty format. It’s a total time suck. I’m mildly obsessed. As if we needed more distractions, right? Well, we do if we want to explore the world of vegetarian food porn.

yes, yes, oh yes. eating.

You’ve experienced food porn before, but don’t be ashamed. You know that food porn is part of mindful eating, right? I’m not talking about women laughing alone with salad. I’m  talking about slick, golden olive oil slowly drizzled over lush, ripe tomatoes and creamy mozzarella. I’m talking about a warm chocolate cake bitten into to reveal a molten peanut butter core. I’m talking about big chunks of hot baguette torn apart with bare hands, nectarine juice dripping off chins after biting into the fruit, a forkful of crunchy, vibrant salad greens making its way from plate to mouth. You know, food porn.
